Equipment:

Cessna 152
The Cessna 152 is our trainer for primary instruction. This aircraft will most often be used to obtain and receive your private Pilot certificate. The Cessna 152 is powered by a 110 horsepower engine, and cruises at approximately 115 miles per hour. It has 2 seats and holds 26 gallons of fuel, giving it a range of approximately 400 miles.

Cessna 172
The Cessna 172 is used primarily as an instrument trainer. The Cessna 172 is powered by a 160 horsepower engine, and cruises at approximately 135 miles per hour. The Cessna 172 has 4 seats and can carry up to 40 gallons of fuel, giving it a range of approximately 650 miles.

Cessna 210
The Cessna 210 can be used for commercial training, for training Flight Instructor candidates, for a high performance sign off, and to conduct flight proficiency checks. The Cessna 210 is a high performance, complex airplane, equipped with a 300 horsepower engine and will cruise at 165 miles per hour. This aircraft has 4 seats and holds up to 90 gallons of fuel, giving it a range of over 800 miles.

Cessna 310
The Cessna 310 serves as a multi-engine trainer. The Cessna 310 is considered a high performance, complex airplane, and is equipped with two 300 horsepower engines. The aircraft also has weather radar and is certified for flight into known icing conditions. This airplane cruises at 225 miles per hour, and can carry up to 163 gallons of fuel, giving it a range of over 1200 miles.

Piper Arrow
The Piper Arrow serves as a more complex trainer, introducing the student to systems such as retractable landing gear, adjustable pitch propellers, and glass panel displays. This aircraft is used for commercial training, as well as training Flight Instructor candidates for their certification. The Piper Arrow is powered by a 200 horsepower engine, and will cruise at approximately 150 miles per hour. It has 4 seats and can carry a maximum fuel amount of 72 gallons, giving it a range of approximately 900 miles.

Cirrus SR-20
The Cirrus SR-20 represents Ohio State’s newest Technically Advanced aircraft. The Cirrus is equipped with multiple glass cockpit displays, modern GPS equipment, and the newest XM weather technology. Frasca Truflight
The F-142 is our newest simulator, and is modeled after the Cessna 172. This simulator features a 170 degree wrap-around visual display unit, and is certified for use by the FAA. The F-142 is commonly used to aid in instrument training, but can be used by any student.

AST 201
The AST 201 is modeled after a single engine, complex airplane. This simulator can be used for private, instrument or commercial training, as well as learning different aircraft procedures.

AST 300
The AST 300 is designed as a multi-engine simulator, giving students training with advanced systems. This simulator is most commonly used for single and multi-engine commercial training, but can also be used for instrument training as well.
