Student aviation organizations provide invaluable resources, contacts, and networking opportunities to complement your education and aviation career. These groups also host various activities throughout the year.
The Ohio State University Flight Team
The Ohio State University Flight Team is a student organization that competes under and is sanctioned by the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA). Every autumn, NIFA holds regional Safety and Evaluation Conferences (SAFECON) with the top teams advancing to the national SAFECON meet in the spring. Events include precision landing competitions, bomb drop competitions, navigation competitions, as well as many ground-based events. Ohio State’s Flight Team has been a national contender for many years, hosted the National Competition in 2006 and 2011.
The 2013 National SAFECON will be held at the Ohio State University Airport from May 6-11.

Alpha Eta Rho
Alpha Eta Rho is the national aviation co-ed fraternity of students with a common interest in aviation in all its forms. Alpha Eta Rho has been in existence for almost 100 years and currently initiates well over 1,000 students nationally per year.
The Ohio State University chapter of Alpha Eta Rho is a very active chapter. Membership has been growing to approximately 30+ members. Besides social activities and visits, presentations by aviation companies are regularly scheduled. The fraternity also sponsors an annual Spring Conference where experts and leaders from the industry make presentations on current issues and topics.

American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Student Chapter
The American Association of Airport Executives is a resource for aviation professionals. The student chapter at OSU gets involved in airport-related activities, goes on industry tours, attends conferences, and hosts events at the university. The OSU chapter of AAAE is an excellent networking resource for students in the aviation program. AAAE also offers many scholarships, grants, and internships to students interested in the field.

Women in Aviation, International
Women in Aviation International is a nationwide association dedicated to developing and promoting aviation opportunities for women.
