Daniel Juday

Daniel Juday

Daniel loves traveling, meeting new people, and working to build bridges of understanding and empathy across challenging "divides." He deeply believes that all people matter, and he's spent much of his life working in roles that have allowed him to develop thinking around the nature of education and learning, relationship-building, and professional growth. As the former Director for the Ohio and Indiana Diversity Councils, Daniel took a fledgling organization and grew its corporate membership ranks by almost 2,000% in 2 years. He now owns and runs his own speaking and consulting business, and works with conference planners, learning and development leaders, nonprofit boards, and corporate entities - all in a pursuit to help them grow their leadership impact and make the spaces they influence more inclusive. Eugene Kim is a senior currently attending the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. Eugene is majoring in Aeronautical Science for B.S while minoring in international relations and airline operations. He has been consistently on the Dean's List as well as the honor roll and is the current public relations officer for Alpha Omicron Alpha, aeronautical honor society in ERAU.

Professor Albelo is an assistant professor of aeronautical science in the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Daytona Beach Campus. His areas of expertise include underrepresented minorities in aviation, qualitative methods of research, aviation education & curriculum development, and airline operations. He is also a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration.





Amanda Aschaber

Amanda Aschaber

Amanda Aschaber is the Manager, Curriculum and Aviation Special Projects, School of Aviation at Seneca College in Toronto and Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Ms. Aschaber’s responsibilities include faculty engagement with teaching and learning strategies, program assessment measures, and new program development. Her Post-secondary course delivery has included Diversity and Teaching and Learning, and Inclusive Curriculum Development. Amanda’s research interests encompass Unconscious Bias in Program Development, and Diversity and Inclusion in College Policies, which is at the core of all the new program development projects she leads. Amanda Aschaber co-chairs the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) Diversity and Inclusion Committee, through which she collaborates with Aviation Schools on an international level to support inclusive practices within the classroom and at a college policy level.

Storm Woods


Storm Woods is the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Manager for L Brands where she works with internal and external business partners to inform, engage, and drive positive results through inclusion.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the Ohio State University, Storm earned her master's degree in Human Resource Management with a focus on the strategic implementation of programs targeted to drive diversity, equity, and inclusion. Storm has made her career in non-profit as well as Fortune 500 organizations. She uses her training and skills to provide guidance & consultation to business partners, develop & deliver compelling training programs, and to execute events & programs that drive recruitment, engagement, and retention among diverse student and employee populations.

She was raised in a military family and spent most of her childhood in Waterford, Michigan before relocating to Columbus, Ohio to accept a position as a performer with the theatre company, Shadowbox Live. Prior to joining L Brands, she excelled in learning & development and leadership roles with Big Lots and Teavana, a subsidiary of Starbucks. Storm lives in Columbus with her husband, Anthony. In her free time, she enjoys practicing and performing as an aerialist, watching The Office or The Golden Girls, and spending time with her cat and bulldog.

Zoe Allerding


Zoe Allerding is a creative, influential, and adaptive Diversity & Inclusion professional with over 17 years of leadership experience in Healthcare, Business Support Operations, and global Retail. Highly skilled at making connections and developing shared priorities, Zoe endeavors to champion untold stories, eradicate inequity and inequality in all its forms, and promote sustained engagement and inclusion.
Currently serving as the Senior Manager of Diversity and Inclusion at L Brands, Zoe is responsible for supporting the development and execution of D&I strategies that reflect L Brands’ talent and business priorities across their global enterprise. Prior to joining L Brands, Zoe had a 10 year career in healthcare, serving in various roles at Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, OSU Physician Group, and OhioHealth, where as System Manager of Diversity and Inclusion, she worked to advance diversity and inclusion by contextualizing D&I strategy, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, raising awareness, and fostering relationships with community organizations.
Zoe is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Women’s and Gender Studies. She is active in the community currently as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and has previously volunteered as a Navigator for the Relā NxGen program, a 10-month leadership development program focused on helping young professionals become more emotionally intelligent servant leaders. She does pro-bono commercial voice work, and mentors current OSU students in the Buckeye Penpal Program.
Zoe lives just outside of Grove City with her husband, four kids, two cats, and an overabundance of houseplants.

Mary Niemczyk

Dr. Mary Niemczyk is an Associate professor, and Chair of the graduate program in the Aviation programs at Arizona State University. Before joining the Aviation faculty, Dr. Niemczyk earned her PhD in Learning & Instructional Technology at ASU. She also worked as a financial analyst at a major US carrier and co-founded an aviation human performance company. Additionally, Dr. Niemczyk is an FAA certified pilot.

Because of her background in learning and instruction, Dr. Niemczyk is often invited by University’s to conduct external reviews of their Aviation programs. She is currently the Chair for the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI), and also serves as a Visiting Team Chair. Dr. Niemczyk is also a past-president of the University Aviation Association (UAA).

Dr. Niemczyk’s research interests center on improving instructional and learning strategies to enhance the performance of individuals in complex, ill-defined environments, such as aviation. Based on her research as well as other educational psychology and neuroscience research results, she developed a learning model – The 4 A’s of Learning (active, associate, anticipate and awareness). Her work also focuses on determining the best attributes, knowledge and skills that can lead to successful performance in aviation training and job performance, as well as how to incorporate and effectively utilize the talents of various generations in the aviation industry. The results of her research have been published in peer-reviewed aviation and education journals, and a book chapter, Ensuring Success by Using the 4 A’s of Learning in, Engaging the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals.

Michael Murasky


Mike Murasky is the acting director of the Boeing Guidance Repair Center in Heath, Ohio, where more than 220 highly-skilled personnel specialize in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) guidance and navigation systems for the U.S. Air Force.

Boeing also provides MRO services for the U.S. Navy’s electrostatically supported gyro navigator (ESGN, or Trident navigation system) and the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) Electronic Support Measures (ESM) systems. The BGRC team produces ESM and aircraft electronics spares as well.

Murasky led a capture team to win the Minuteman III ICBM Missile Guidance Set (MGS) maintenance and repair program, a U.S. Air Force award valued at $369 million for six years. Murasky’s management of that program included oversight of Airborne Vehicle Equipment (AVE) and Depot Support Equipment (DSE).

Prior to managing the MGS program, Murasky established a DSE risk program to identify and mitigate test equipment risks to the repair contract. This led to the capture of $67 million over and above the repair contract for various DSE upgrade and replacement programs. Murasky also led efforts that resulted in the first Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) activity on the weapon system, leading to improved performance of the weapon system.

Before joining the ICBM program office, Murasky was operations director for the Heath site, ensuring all programs achieved functional excellence in touch labor and industrial engineering. He implemented LEAN practices across all work areas and inspired continuous improvements through employee engagement. Also responsible for Employee Health Safety, Murasky ensured compliance to all regulatory agencies and fostered a proactive safety culture at the site.

Murasky joined Boeing in 1996, supporting multiple ICBM repair programs with increasing responsibilities in project management, engineering oversight, technician training, and customer communications. He had prior civil service at Newark Air Force Base as a technician on the Minuteman flight computer.

A lifelong resident of Ohio, Murasky has a bachelor’s degree in operations management and an associate’s degree in electronics engineering. He has continued his education and professional development through Boeing leadership development opportunities.

Gretchen Dildine


Gretchen Dildine is the Government Services Senior Program Manager at the Boeing Guidance Repair Center (BGRC) in Heath, Ohio, overseeing all direct U.S. Government contracts including the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) guidance and navigation systems and the  guidance and navigation systems for legacy aircraft platforms for the U.S. Air Force, as well as support for the KC-10 and Electrostatically Suspended Gyro Navigator Sustainment (ESGN-S) program portfolios.

Dildine has over 30 years’ experience in finance and project management. Her career accomplishments have encompassed working on muli-million dollar development programs to supporting the warfighter thru execution of the repair efforts performed on the ICBM guidance program. Dildine not only has a strong finance background and excellent communications skills, but also has demonstrated the ability to lead multifunctional teams.

Joining the company in 2007, Dildine started as an Estimating and Pricing Specialist where she worked with the Programs to estimate and price various projects, ensuring that proposals meet all government, company, and local policies, procedures, and regulations relating to the development of cost proposals.  She also developed a Forecasting Model to be used by site and programs for orders, sales, earnings, base hours and direct head information, along with development of annual LRBP. Additionally, she has worked as a Contract & Pricing Administrator for the Heath site and was responsible for leading proposal development and negotiation, providing contracting expertise to develop and negotiate complex creative business solutions for new and follow-on business as well as representing the company to diverse customers, including U.S. Government, Diversity representative for Heath as the Site Diversity Focal, and project manager responsible for execution of the ICBM repair contract and ensuring requirements were met.

Before joining Boeing, Dildine’s early career began as a paraprofessional for a regional accounting firm.  Over the course of her tenure in the accounting and finance field, she worked for Delottie & Touché, Jones Lang LaSalle and Asset Strategies Group in various roles and capacities. 

Dildine earned an Associates in Accounting from Bradford Business College, her Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Accounting from Franklin University.  She completed her Master of Business Administration degree from Franklin University, with honors. She has continued her education and professional development through Boeing leadership development opportunities including a certificate in Project Management from Villanova University and a certificate in Women in Leadership from Cornell University.

Dildine lives in Groveport, Ohio with her family.

Mark E. Dunaway


Mark joined McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis in 1984 as an avionics engineer on the F/A-18 program. He spent seven years in engineering, then accepted a transfer into the Supplier Quality organization and relocated to Los Angeles, CA. During his 15 years in L.A., he held positions as an avionics commodity field representative, and as a Supplier Quality regional manager. In 2006, Mark accepted a management transfer and relocated to the mid-west; first to the Chicago area, then to Madison, Wisconsin, where he managed a nine state regional area for Supplier quality. In 2010, Mark accepted the position as Quality and Site Services Senior Manager at the Boeing facility in Heath, Ohio, where his responsibilities included Quality, Facilities, EHS, Security and Fire Protection, Government Property, and Information Technology (IT). In 2015, his job assignment was revised to be the Quality, Safety, and Property Sr. Manager, to allow him to focus his efforts on First Time Quality. In 2017, Mark became the Quality leader for Strategic Deterrence Systems (SDS) and currently leads the Quality organization for SDS, with personnel in Heath, Ohio and Ogden, Utah.  

In addition to his work responsibilities, Mark also serves as a Boeing enterprise team deputy focal on the Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (oSTEM) Advisory Committee, also as leadership champion for the Boeing LGBTQ+ Business Resource group, Boeing Employees Pride Alliance (BEPA) at the Heath, Ohio, site, and is a member of the Heath site’s Sr. Leadership Diversity Steering Committee.  He also serves as mentor and career coach to several Boeing employees. 

Marks hold a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Lindenwood University - St. Louis, and a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion for HR from Cornell University.

Mark lives in Columbus, Ohio, with his husband of seventeen years, Marc Gofstein, and their two canine children, Scrappy and Twyla.

Jennifer Hogan


Jennifer Hogan is a degreed meteorologist earning her bachelor’s degree in atmospheric sciences from The Ohio State University in 2002. She was an aviation forecast meteorologist for NetJets, Inc. (ranked 4th largest fleet of U.S. domestic air carriers) for a little over 10 years. She forecasted for anywhere they flew, globally, which exposed her to many unique micro and mesoclimates for aviation forecasting. It was this skill and experience that brought her to Boeing in 2012 under the Dreamliner 787 Supply Chain Management, Dreamlifter Operations in schedule management and planning. She moved from Columbus, Ohio to Everett, WA where she supported this global, 24/7/365 operation in support of the Dreamliner 787 production in Charleston, SC and Everett, WA. While the move to the Pacific Northwest was an adventurous one, Jennifer missed the four seasons of the Midwest. When she made plans to move back to Ohio, Dreamlifter leadership offered her a work remote position, which she accepted, and then continued to support the team for roughly four more years. She continued to support Dreamlifter Operations from a weather standpoint by helping stand up Fairbanks, AK as a new alternate airport of use, along with a Monte Carlo study for the 747-400 series nitrogen generation system which required temperature studies at several places around the globe at high cruise altitudes. Jennifer transitioned to Boeing Defense, Space and Security in 2018 and has learned copious amounts of information about electronic warfare systems as well as weapon systems too. Supporting the Warfighter has a significantly different perspective of Boeing than what the commercial side holds. 

Jennifer’s passion squarely resides in weather, however aviation has a second strong hold on her interests as well.  She currently holds a board of director’s position with the National Weather Association, a professional meteorology organization she has volunteered with for well over a decade now. Along with weather and aviation, Jennifer is passionate about championing women in STEM fields and getting the younger generation interested in the aviation and science fields. This shows through her involvement in one of Boeing’s business resource group BWIL (Boeing Women Inspiring Leadership) as the Heath chapter president. Jennifer’s ultimate joy is sharing her life, education, and career experiences with those around her and to whomever she can influence to help inspire younger generations. 

Vonetta C. Walsh


Vonetta Walsh is driven by delivering excellence in the field of Human Resources. Vonetta has found success and great personal reward in supporting and guiding employees and managers through difficult challenges by focusing on the “human” aspect of Human Resources. Vonetta has her bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and an associate degree in Paralegal Studies. Having joined The Boeing Company more than 20 years ago, her career has given her a variety of diverse growth opportunities. She is the sole HR professional at the Boeing Guidance Repair Center (BGRC) in Heath, Ohio which employs a population of more than 500 people. 
Currently, Vonetta is a valued member of the Culture and Development team for the Central/East region. In that role she deploys her skills to assess and drive improvements to the culture of the organization and coach employees in their career development. Leadership engagement is a key area of interest for Vonetta.  An important undertaking to further explore this interest has been to provide proactive support for strengthening leaders’ team engagement to bring forth improved business outcomes. As a member of the Leaders in Transition team, she connects new Boeing leaders as they enter the company or begin working in higher level positions; providing them with both the resources and access to other new leaders to further their success. She also serves as an advocate to listen to and elevate the voices of employees. 

During her prior role as an HR Generalist Vonetta supported leaders across multiple functions within Boeing Defense Space and Security. To support employee and business needs within HR she has collaborated with a broad group of diverse organizations such as Labor Relations, Workforce Planning, Global Staffing, Compensation, Investigations, Medical, Accommodation Services, HR Operations, and many others. While serving on the HR Performance Support team she provided expertise in coaching and counseling leaders and employees through performance concerns. Throughout her career Vonetta has worked in partnership with employees and leaders at all levels providing her knowledge, expertise, coaching, and guidance to bring resolution to unique and common issues in order to achieve their desired outcomes.  

Diversity and Inclusion has always been an area of passion and interest for Vonetta. In addition to being a leader in the BGRC Diversity council in its early days, she served several years as President of the Boeing Black Employees Association (BBEA) as well as other board positions. Serving in these roles resulted in the successful delivery of many learning and leadership opportunities for BBEA members and other Boeing employees. 

Vonetta and her husband have three sons. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family as well as in creative ways through art, music, and home décor/improvements.

Christopher L. Duckworth

My current role Exercises signature authority in negotiating and contracting for the Heath Ohio business portfolio. I aid in the preparation, negotiation, execution, interpretation and administration of legally binding contractual agreements between Boeing BDS/BGS/BCA, subsidiaries and external customers (DoD, FMS & Commercial).

Career history
Project Manager – ESM Systems, E3 AWACS Sustainment, FT3 Flight Systems (Heath), Mod7
My job was to lead others and direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion, acting as the primary project contact. I ensured that all project control systems, within the scope of the project, were in place and integrated project data for decision making. The primary desired outcome is to control and deliver contractual deliverables on-time and within budget. My experience includes development of proposals ranging from $9K to $75M, participating in fact-finding, counter-offers and negotiations for TINA compliant, FAR regulated SCA contracts.

Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Business & Planning Analyst – Space Exploration (SLS, CCTS)
This role involved developing and coordinating complex integrated schedules, networks, resource plans, and forecasts within each program as a business partner. This required cross-enterprise and/or cross-business unit coordination business analysis. I had to conduct investigations and analysis of complex problems that may have led to procedural or policy decisions, and contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. This role involved the ability to synthesize information based on experience and judgment to arrive at optimum solutions to problems involving both internal and external customers.

BDS Business & Planning Analyst – Heath Ohio
Tasks involved the use historical and forecast data to perform trend analysis, earned value management, variance analysis, risk assessments, estimates at completions. Other tasks:

  • Identify issues and provide guidance and recommendations to customers and management.
  • Develop, review and maintain CDRLs for various contracts.
  • Conduct business analysis requiring cross-enterprise and/or cross-business unit coordination.
  • Support interaction with internal and external (Corporate, Private sector and Government) auditors
  • Prepare and conduct training sessions on planning, scheduling, and related cost management/earned value management subjects.
  • Introduce and implement Boeing Common tools, train teams on new process and procedures flow down by the company.
  • Continuous ad hoc analysis and on-the-fly recommendations.

Pamela "Rae" Stuart


Rae Stuart strives for excellence within the Heath Ohio Leadership team. As the site Diversity and Inclusion Leader, she has shown significant strength in coaching and educating managers and employees on the importance of Diversity and Inclusion to the business. Her aptitude in this area is one of the reasons she was selected for the position at the Heath site. Within the Diversity and Inclusion role, Rae works in partnership with numerous managers and employees by providing her knowledge, expertise, coaching, and guidance to bring awareness to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to achieve desired strategy outcomes for the site.

Rae is responsible for influencing the culture to create a more inclusive environment and enhance multicultural understanding in the workplace. Rae is focused on driving the execution of the global diversity & inclusion strategy to local functional & business leaders, diversity councils and business resource groups. She partners with business leaders to embed diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the business strategy for growth, success, and sustainability. She is also responsible for developing plans and objectives as well as providing data for Sr. Management reviews to track performance to plan. She is responsible to collect, organize and analyze data providing summaries to the program leadership team to manage the Heath business.

Rae has a strong passion for leading change and developing employees while strengthening the Boeing brand and reputation, she is actively involved helping to recruit top talent, and has been recognized for inspiring employees to reach their full potential. She has been primary driver in leading change and developing diversity programs at the Boeing site in Heath Ohio. She has able to manage, develop and motivate employees and mid-level managers and increase site engagement in Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and she has been recognized for implementing best practices in areas of Diversity and Inclusion. As a member of a small leadership team supporting over 550 employees at the Heath, Ohio site, she has found success and great personal reward in her ability to support and guide employees and managers through difficult challenges by focusing on the “human” aspect of the business.

Leadership engagement has been a key area of interest for Rae. To further her growth in that area, Rae has held various leadership roles for the company such as serving as the enterprise focal and ambassador for the Boeing Employee Pride Alliance, facilitating classes at the Boeing Leadership Center for the Leadership Next program and implementing Diversity and Inclusion best practices across the enterprise. She recently accepted the Enterprise BEPA President role to further grow and develop the company BEPA vision and mission.  She has served as President of the Boeing Heath Diversity Council, the BWIL (Boeing Women Inspiring Leadership) and the BEPA business resource groups. She is a chair of the REACH team which is an organization dedicated to enhancing and engaging employees both professionally and personally while inspiring new leaders and being actively engaged with community outreach programs through Boeing. She has been named a Boeing Diversity Change Agent.

Rae is a leader both at work and in her community. In her community Rae was recently recognized as a “Top 20 under 40 Young Professional” in the Licking County’s Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Young Leaders of Licking County, a talented group of young professionals focused on fostering the next generation of leaders through community networking, mentorship, education and leadership development. She is a member of Women United, a global force of 75000 women dedicated to creating a world of opportunity and lasting change to lift up entire communities. Rae is also a member of the CIRC (Community Intercultural Relations Conference Committee Member which is a group focused on bringing the community together through understanding of Diversity and to facilitate the creation of an entire community that embraces diversity. This annual conference provides business leaders, educators, students and other interested individuals with a forum to raise awareness of social and cultural similarities and differences, which creates an inclusive community in Licking County.  Rae is the Head Softball coach for Granville High School where she holds a 86% win percentage from 2013-present. She has lead the Granville Blue Aces softball team to a State Championship, a State semi-final loss, 2 Regional Championships, and 5 District Championships. She was a 3 sport college athlete for Capital University in her early years using the experience to motivate future youth.

Rae Stuart has worked for The Boeing Company in Heath, Ohio, since 2007. She is currently working at the Boeing Guidance Repair Center in the Missiles and Weapon Systems group under Boeing Defense Space & Security business. The site is responsible for the repair, refurbishment, assembly and test of US Air Force and Navy Guidance and Navigation equipment. They also build and test aircraft electronics for the US Air Force. In her previous position, Rae worked for the Aircraft Program Office and the ESM and Electronics team in a project management specialist / Process Analyst role. In this position, she was responsible for collecting synthesizing and integrating project data for decision makers and for the execution of repair and spares contracts through the development of task specific, plans, deliverables and schedules. She has also served as the site Process Change Control Board leader, the Site Risk Issue and Opportunity Management leader, and Site Program Management Best Practices Leader in former roles.

She holds a bachelors' degrees in Political Science and Criminology from Capital University and a master's degree in Administration of Criminal Justice from Tiffin University. She also has completed the Program Management Fundamentals enterprise program and is also a graduate of the Boeing Employee Development Program (EDP).

She is willing to travel and relocate globally as needed.

Amy's experience in the Career Services field spans over 25 years, starting at Temple University in Philadelphia and arriving at The Ohio State University in 1995. She's worked in the College of Arts and Sciences as well as the College of Public Health. She became the Director of Engineering Career Services in 2011 and provides overall leadership and strategic direction for ECS.  Her areas of expertise include strategic thinking, strong relationship building, individual and group coaching/counseling, leadership development, collaboration, program and special event planning and implementation, employer relationship management, staff coaching, management and supervision.

    Working at one of the country’s busiest airports, MIA International, Freddie has amassed an formidable record of experience, serving in various positons such as, but not limited to; Air Traffic Operations Supervisor, Training Manager for MIA and as one of two Support Managers for Training in the newly realigned Miami District. He had charge of training programs at 13 terminal facilities as well as San Juan CERAP and the Miami Air Route Control Center. He now serves as the Acting Air Traffic Manager at MIA Tower/TRACON.
  • Freddie’s aviation career spans 19 years and began with his internship in the Eastern Region’s Air Traffic Operations Branch in 2001, and then commenced with his first air traffic control assignment at Westchester County Airport
  • (HPN) in White Plains, New York in 2003.
  • He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management from The College of Aeronautics (now Vaughn College) in New York.
  • Freddie’s love for aviation stemmed from his curiosity as a young boy who often wondered how planes communicated while in flight.

Loren Herren

Loren Herren is an Assistant Professor in the Aviation Science department at Bridgewater State University. He also currently serves as interim chief instructor and oversees flight standards and evaluation for BSU’s flight training operation. He teaches undergraduate courses in aviation regulatory process, aircraft systems, and ground schools for flight instructor and instrument pilot students. Social diversity and inclusion have long been personal and professional passions and in July 2019 Loren took on the role of Special Assistant to the Dean for Aviation Program Diversity with the mission to increase awareness and access to aviation for students of color, women and members of the LGBTQ+ community.  He continues integrating and expanding those efforts within his teaching and operational duties.

Loren has a Bachelors in Psychology from St. Bonaventure University and a Masters in Higher Education Administration from the University of Vermont, and has worked in numerous public and private colleges and universities including Binghamton University, the University of Vermont, Hendrix College, and University of Central Florida, and at BSU since 2008.  He holds an ATP and is an active Flight Instructor. When he is not in one of his offices, he spends time with his family and volunteers with the Civil Air Patrol and FAA Safety Team. 

Melanie Dickman

Melanie Dickman is a two-time graduate from The Ohio State University with degrees in both Psychology and Aviation, and holds a commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating and Advanced Ground Instructor certificate. She is currently a program coordinator in the Center for Aviation Studies where she serves on the Diversity & Inclusion committee.

Melanie is also finishing her master’s degree, where her research is focused on motivational and psychological factors in aviation training & instructional design and the factors in a woman’s pre-collegiate life that contribute to her decision to become a pilot.

Melanie founded the organization Girls in Science and Technology (GISAT) in 2013, where she shares her passion for aviation and STEM with elementary school-aged girls in the Central Ohio area. GISAT holds approximately 10 events per year for girls in kindergarten through fifth grade, introducing approximately 200 girls per year to STEM through an Aviation lens.

Vanessa Blacknall-Jamison


Vanessa has over 43 years of professional aviation experience with 28 of those as a manager and supervisor. Currently, Vanessa is a Change Management Advisor and Leadership Coach (ACC) – AFB Leadership Development Team – Change Management Group for the Federal Aviation Administration. Her duties include Change Management advisory, consultation, individual skills development, CM training, and support focusing on the people side of change for national projects. Vanessa provides one-on-one and team coaching for executives, middle managers, and frontline managers.

Vanessa joined the FAA in 2009, as an Aviation Safety Inspector - AMR CMO, with oversight responsibilities for American Airlines and American Eagle (Envoy) Airlines. Vanessa retired from United Airlines as the Manager of Emergency Procedures Training for pilots and flight attendants worldwide. In addition, she held the position of Human Resources – Sr. Staff Specialist responsible for the recruitment of minority and female pilots.

Vanessa currently serves as the first non – pilot Chair for the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) Board of Directors and previously held positions as Vice-Chair, and Board of Advisors. Vanessa’s volunteerism ranges from Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to coaching for Grad Life Choices.

Vanessa has an M.B.A and received her B.A. – Public Relations from University of Southern California. She holds her Associate Coaching Certification (ACC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF), certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner (CMP) and Train-the-Trainer. Vanessa was an adjunct professor for the University of Colorado – Denver, teaching Organizational Health and Public Speaking.

Vanessa resides in Denver, Colorado, married to Tony (35 years) and is truly the proud mother of two adult children!

Casandra Bosco



Cassandra Bosco has provided communications and strategic planning services to the aviation industry for over 30 years.  In her current role as WAI’s Director for Education and Industry Relations, Cassandra promotes WAI’s education offerings and serves as a liaison between those pursuing aviation careers and employers across commercial, public and association fields. Cassandra is also involved in developing industry initiatives on workforce development and Diversity & Inclusion.

Cassandra (WAI Member #3) has been associated with WAI since its inception, serving as one of its founding board members. Her contributions were celebrated at WAI’s 2013 Annual Conference, where she was inducted into the Women in Aviation Pioneer Hall of Fame.

In 2001, Cassandra was presented with the Business and Commercial Aviation Vision Award in recognition for contributions to the “safety, effectiveness and growth of business aviation.” In 1997, Cassandra was presented with the Alpha Eta Rho professional aviation society award for “outstanding contribution to and understanding of the effects of aviation and its development upon the world.” In 1991, she received the Estridge Award from American Airlines for dedicated service to aviation education. In 2019, she received the Truitt-Felbinger Award from the American Society for Public Administration in recognition of the significant contributions to aviation non-profit organizations, continued efforts in outreach to underrepresented groups, and recruitment efforts for the next generation of aviation professionals.

Brian Gambino


Brian is the President of The NGPA: The Worldwide LGBT Aviation Community and he grew up under the final approach path for runway 22L at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. As a kid he was always looking skyward, and by the age of 6 proclaimed that he wanted to be a Pilot. After a discovery flight at age 14, Brian focused his energy on his lofty dreams by heading to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science, with a minor in Air Traffic Management. Right after college Brian attained his first job in the airline sector, spending 8-years learning and honing his skills; abilities that would land him his dream job at JetBlue Airways where he currently flies the Airbus 320/321.

Brian was very lucky to have parents who not only supported his aspirations for the sky but also stood by his side when he came to terms with his sexuality. He also found the support of the NGPA in 2008 and attended his first Palm Springs event that very same year. Fast forward through a few years of membership and Brian began to take on a leadership role as the Director of the Industry Expo event in late 2015. In that role, the NGPA has seen the Industry Expo grow from an event of less than 100 attendees to one which see’s over 1,400 attendees and exhibitors each year. This connection to our Industry Partners and sponsors has given Brian the opportunity to sign many of NGPA’s current sponsorship agreements as well as further relationships for our organization across the industry.

Brian lives in Chicago with his husband Jon who works in global marketing. Outside of work and NGPA, Brian and Jon are passionate about traveling to new areas of the world and tasting wines throughout the areas they visit. They love reading a good travel blog and they have a knack for redeeming airlines miles for fancy travel around the globe.

Tennesse Garvey



Tennesse Garvey is currently a First Officer with United Airlines, and serves as a Programs Chair for OBAP. Previously, he worked for JetBlue Airways as a First Officer and also had the privilege of working at FIT Aviation where he served as the Assistant Chief Flight Instructor for the College of Aeronautics. Tennessee enjoys being active in the community. He currently volunteers with his local American Red Cross chapter as a Disaster Action Team volunteer. Through OBAP, he has been actively involved with APIS visits along with being a part of the Houston, Boston and Newark ACE Academies. During the summer of 2018, Garvey organized OBAP's first international APIS visit to his home country of Jamaica. Over the course of two days, Tennesse and several other volunteers met and shared with over 1,800 students from four schools across Kingston. This visit was so impactful he organized a second visit to Jamaica later that year, where we shared with over 600 students from five schools. 

In his spare time, Tennesse enjoys playing soccer, hiking and competing in half marathons.


Enanga Daisy Fale


Enanga Daisy Fale is a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) advocate and aerospace-defense industry enthusiast. She engages in a number of engineering community service activities focused on technical development, research, and advocacy.  Currently, Enanga serves as the Aerospace Special Interest Group (SIG) Director with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and as the newly appointed Regional Deputy Director of Membership within the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). As the Aerospace SIG director, Enanga is focused on empowering individuals to transform the aerospace industry through collaborative and global networks. She has been a member of NSBE and the Aerospace SIG since 2012, when she joined to support and eventually lead the research on the development of an East African Spaceport. Additionally, Enanga’s STEM advocacy began and extends through the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).  She has been a SWE society leadership coach and sectional leader with a passion to build shared value between the organization and the local engineering community.  Her passion extended to previously supporting committees and initiatives on the globalization of SWE.  She also extends her technical and leadership expertise as an educator in electrical and computer engineering technology programs or through appointments on engineering educational review boards.

Enanga relishes opportunities to drive technological advancement within the Aerospace and Defense industry and is enthused that her day to day operations are focused on that. She works as a system engineering manager within Northrop Grumman to provide technical leadership and management of a systems engineering department, systems integration capabilities, and a system virtualization lab (i.e. virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality) for multiple product lines and platforms. She holds previous engineering and leadership experiences with fortune 100 companies extensively focused on the systems and software design of aircraft, avionic, and other industrial applications.

She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from St. Cloud State University with a concentration on Aviation Operations and Avionics and a Masters in Systems Engineering with a Certificate in Human-Computer Interaction from Iowa State University.  She has been recognized for her work and achievements from St. Cloud State University through the 2018 Alumni Service Award; from NSBE through the 2018 Professional Leader Award, 2017 Technical Excellence Ambassador Award, and 2016 NSBE Space SIG Leadership Team Facilitator Award; from SWE through the 2014 Governor’s Choice Award and SWE Chicago Regional Section Professional Development Award; from college institutions for Instructor Performance; and from employer recognition programs for Customer Focus, Performance, and Leadership on programs within the aerospace and defense industry.
