Industry Partnerships

Synergistic partnerships between industry members and the Center for Aviation Studies provide opportunities for student interactions, educational initiatives, drone services and a gateway to Ohio State research. In addition to the touch points outlined below, we welcome ideas on new ways to work together.

Talent pipeline

The center produces high-achieving, qualified graduates ready to fill roles throughout the aviation industry. From dispatchers and pilots to administrators and analysts, Buckeye aviators and aviation professionals are being trained to help fill the projected industry talent deficit. Engagement opportunities with direct access to students include:

A formal career pathway program provides direct access and multiple touch points to Buckeyes from mid-college through graduation, while guiding them towards company hire.

Each summer many aviation students aim to hone their skills by participating in internships across the country. Allow us to share open positions with our students.

Information sessions and demonstrations
Focused on career success, information sessions can be arranged throughout the year on campus to reach students where they are. Technology demonstrations can also be scheduled.

Multiple aviation student organizations regularly seek facility tours, guest presentations and other opportunities for professional growth and networking.


Participating in aviation-focused events at Ohio State allows industry members to have access to students, as well as to peer organizations. Networking opportunities abound. Please contact us to discuss your priorities and we can make recommendations for event attendance.

Networking Week and Aviation Industry Night
Our signature annual event attracts hundreds of aviation students. There are a variety of ways that sponsors can be involved, from simply having a booth to hosting formal and informal networking events.

This student-led annual event convenes industry, government and academic advanced air mobility leaders in a solution-focused multiday forum.

Our annual autumn event in partnership with the College of Engineering's Welcome (Back) Week activities allows drone-focused organizations to table at an event or host flight demonstrations.

Traditional courses
Enroll as a Buckeye to enjoy access to aviation, air transportation and aviation management curriculum offerings. One option is drone academic offerings utilizing Unmanned Safety Institute's curriculum.


Faculty and staff are sought by industry members to help investigate air transportation's current and future challenges. Center researchers welcome partnerships and research sponsorships in support of finding solutions. Research opportunities:
