2024 aviation study abroad opportunities
The Center for Aviation Studies is excited to announce two European study abroad opportunities for students at The Ohio State University in 2024.
International Perspectives on Aviation

Explore aviation topics in France and Spain during the International Perspectives on Aviation spring break trip. The travel is the highlight of the semester-long ENGR 5797.25 course. Led by lecturers Matt Dreher and Brian Strzempkowski, students will take part in an immersive experience intended to further their knowledge and understanding of aviation as a truly global network while also preparing them to operate in an international setting upon graduation. Weekly meetings throughout the semester will cover topics ranging from international aviation governing bodies, differences in the regulatory environment and general cultural awareness.
The program is open to students of all majors and ranks. Applications are accepted through October 5, 2023. Please visit the Office of International Affairs study abroad website for requirements, cost and details.
Drones and UAS in Switzerland

In addition, students can learn about many facets of the drone and uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) ecosystem by examining the state of the industry in Switzerland, a world innovation leader in this area. The ten-day Drones and UAS in Switzerland trip is part of the summer session ENGR 5797 course. Join Chris Strasbaugh and Melanie Dickman, lecturers, as they lead the class in examining the regulatory, cultural and economic factors that have resulted in the current state of the industry in Switzerland, the wider European Union and the United States.
Students from all majors and ranks are welcome to apply. The application deadline is January 9, 2024. The Office of International Affairs’ study abroad website has detailed information on requirements, cost and more.
