Jim Oppermann has been a Lecturer since 2002 at the Center for Aviation Studies. He teaches the Aviation Management curriculum in the areas of Management, Economics, Marketing, International, and Transportation Planning and Analysis.
Prior to Ohio State Mr. Oppermann from 1991 to 2002 was a Supervisor for the America West Airlines hub in Columbus. There his duties were Passenger Services and Operations. From 1996 to 2002 he taught as an Adjunct at Ohio State and Columbus State.
Besides his teaching responsibilities, Mr Oppermann oversees Internships and Employment, is the Advisor to the Aviation Fraternity, assists with the International Airline conferences, and acts as a liaison to various Industry associations.
His Master’s is Organization Development from the University of San Francisco. His Bachelor’s is from Saint Mary’s College of California.
After teaching courses at The Ohio State University for 15 years, Jim decided to retire after Spring semester 2015. He is planning to stay in Columbus, with his wife, kids, and grandchildren.
