Aircraft Dispatch Program

Aircraft Dispatch Course Enrollment Requirements

In order to complete the Aircraft Dispatch Program at Ohio State two dedicated dispatch courses need to be taken in sequence. Aircraft Dispatch Fundamental and Applied Dispatching.  The first course is offered each fall semester, and the second course is offered in the spring.

Course Requirements

  • Prerequisites for Aircraft Dispatch Fundamentals pass by 80%
    • AVN 2100 with a grade higher than 80%
      • Transfer credit can be given under the following conditions
        • Student transfers from another Part 141 training program
          • Passed the Private Pilot Ground School equivalent with an 80%
          • Syllabus from that ground school is approved by the Chief Instructor of Ohio State’s 141 program
        • If the student has a Private Pilot Certificate or higher
          • Passes the AVN 2100 final exam with a minimum of 80%
    • AVN 2300 with a grade higher than 80%
  • Prerequisites for Applied Aircraft Dispatch
    • Complete Aircraft Dispatch Fundamentals with a minimum of 80%
  • Written test completed before grad. cert issued
  • 80% in both disp. courses
  • Oral and practical completed within 90 days of course grad.
  • Books $80, written $150, Oral $400

Course Information

  • 100% attendance is required in both Aircraft Dispatch Fundamentals and Applied Aircraft Dispatch
  • In order to receive a graduation certificate from the Aircraft Dispatch Course Sequence
    • Student must be 21 yrs. old by the end of Applied Aircraft Dispatching
    • FAA Aircraft Dispatch written test must be completed
    • Student must have received a minimum of 80% in both Aircraft Dispatch Fundamentals and Applied Aircraft Dispatch
  • Aircraft Dispatch practical exam must be completed within 90 days of graduation from Applied Aircraft Dispatch Course

Additional Fees

  • The required course packet for the Aircraft Dispatch Course Sequence will be approximately $80
  • The fee for the FAA Aircraft Dispatch written test is approximately $150
    • This written test is only required if the student intends to take the Aircraft Dispatch Practical exam, and is separate from any requirement need to pass the Ohio State course.
  • If the student elects to take the practical exam after receiving a graduation certificate the fee for that exam will be approximately $400.
    • This exam will be administered by an FAA Designated Examiner, and is separate from any requirement need to pass the Ohio State course.
